Described by Pantone® as “a refreshing and revitalizing shade” and “symbolic of new beginnings”*, this soft but vibrant green is a sure color to look out for and is expected to be accenting homes everywhere in 2017.

Suggesting a human yearning for a return to natural surroundings, Greenery seems in line with the trend I’ve noticed among interior design-based posts throughout social media channels, where just about every room in the house appears to be accented with lush indoor plants and small trees, fresh flowers, and terrariums.pantone-color-of-the-year-lee-eiseman-quote

As we spend more of our days inside offices and other workplaces – some of which may not be making much effort to bring in natural light or oxygen-emanating friends – in our downtime we may crave the natural beauty our 9a-5p is missing. When you get home from work and it’s too late to go for a jog or a hike outdoors (and frankly who would do that? tbh it’s hard enough just to bathe after a long day 🙄), Pantone® predicts that you will enjoy coming home and unwinding along this reviving shade of green. While it’s no replacement for the real thing, I can see where they’re coming from here.

Check out their beautiful palette recommendations here, and see how you can slot some Greenery into your color scheme, whether you’re going for an ambience that is fresh, warm, pastel, bright, and most anything in between.
